At the Amos Family Pet Companion Crematory we offer two types of cremation options to our pet parents, completed in an ethical and dignified manner.

 

Private Cremation

Individual cremations are completed one at a time, within two days of receiving the pet at our facility during the regular business week.  If desired, you may witness this form of cremation, by appointment.  The cremated body of your pet is placed in a container selected by you.

  

Communal Cremation

During a communal cremation, your pet is cremated along with other pets.  The pet is not returned to the family.  The cremated remains are then scattered on a private farm in southeast Kansas.

• Frequently Asked Questions

  What makes your cremation services different?

  First of all, we are the only pet crematory in the Kansas City area operated by a funeral home. You will be working with funeral professionals. Some of the same people who work with our pet services work with our human services. We believe that you will find us to be more professional and better able to accommodate any special requests.

  What if my veterinarian’s office says they can take care of the cremation?

  The Amos Family works with some of our local veterinarians, but not all. The biggest difference is that the level of service you will receive from the Amos Family will be far superior. Your pet’s cremated remains will be available to you in a couple of days. In many cases, we can have the cremated remains ready that same day.

  What if my pet dies at home?

  When a pet dies at home, there are two options. You can call 913-631-7314 and arrange for a home pick up 24 hours a day, or you can bring your pet to us during business hours. The cost of a home pick up ranges from $50.00 to $150.00 depending on the time of day. Additional mileage fees may apply. Go to the "Our Prices" page for more information.
